■ Product Information■
The collagen is highly purified from porcine skin and is manufactured into a sheet or flour form. It is sterilized after production and is non-pyrogenic.
It is indicated as an adjunct to hemostasis to control bleeding by ligature or when conventional procedures are ineffective or impractical.
It should be applied directly to the bleeding surface with some pressure to hold the sheet or flour in place. The amount of time need to apply the pressure on the bleeding site varies from 2 to 4 minutes depending on the severity of the bleeding. SunMax Absorbable Hemostat can be left in the wound site after hemostasis. However, the surgeon may desire to remove excess SunMax Absorbable Hemostat before closing the wound.
